Evening stroll at Pierce Reservoir

Some snapshots of little Keziah out for a stroll at the Upper and Lower Pierce Reservoir. Daddy and Mommy just felt that we ought to get more in touch with nature and get the feel of being out of this crammed concrete jungle at least for some moments in the week. Probably also some fresher air...heehee...

Anyway, we weren't prepared to eat out till one call came. So there we went, kinda starving Keziah as Daddy and Mommy's dinner went beyond her dinner time. So this was the first time Daddy and Mommy actually allowed Keziah to nibble on their share of food, but really it's just the plain Japanese rice. Somehow, she enjoyed it alot. Then again, it could be that she was truely hungry. After this attempt, finding that Keziah could manage quite well with food outside, maybe Daddy and Mommy could really explore having her join them in meals in future without having the hassle of cooking an extra share. Just some thoughts but guess we will still try to give her 'naturally flavoured' food where possible rather than with all the additives for another 3-6 mths.

Something big...

Well, till now Keziah still don't show much interest in self feeding crackers and finger food. However, today it surprised us at the dinner table when we gave her an apple to play with while we have our dinner. She actually took the whole big apple with skin on and chewed on it. She did manage to bite some off. So Mommy decided to just peel the skin and let her have some fun exercising her jaws and teeth. Just look at her...

Strength in numbers...

Monday was really Monday blues...As the week went on, Mommy has been feeling better. Somehow talking and sharing on forum and other mommies really helped to make one realise that she is not alone. There are so many common problems that Mommies face, be it Stay at Home Moms or Full Time Working Moms. Each has her set of worries, pains and joys. Guess it is only at this point that we realise it's not easy being a Mom after all. So can you think what more you could do to express your love for your own Moms? All said, nothing is more rewarding to see your little one being loved and getting the best of the world that you could give to her amidst the contraints. Make the best of it! Why bring the stress and sadness of being a FTWM home? Mommy is learning to leave behind work in office and come home to rest and play with little Keziah!

Depressive mood...

While Keziah is growing well and actively moving around, I has a sudden set in with depressive mood today when I came to work. Not sure what is the cause today, but seriously I felt super low and down. Not sure how I feel so lonely and appear to have lost many of my friends. Even when I try to get some Mommy support from the Forum, hardly are there any responses as I guess I have fell out of the circle due to haven't been quite in touch and missing out on the outings. Hmmm...somehow can't seem to kick up a decent conversation with people....arghhh...Mommy's feeling lonely...

I need to get out of this mood, otherwise today is a real wasted at work where things will pile up. Monday bluez...I am seriously feeling it....

A new discovery.....

Saturday morning, Daddy and Mommy brought Keziah to MacRitchie Reservoir Park for a morning walk. This time we started off earlier so as to avoid clashing with my nap time...Whew...it is nice to breathe some nice fresh air and take a walk in the park. Just look at Keziah trampling around without the help of Daddy and Mommy. Well, nice to be able to be on her own but somehow she was a little apprehensive taking the first few steps and wanted Mommy and Daddy to carry. Guess it might the different ground feel that made her rather unsure if it was safe to go ahead...Nonetheless, she still did..

Ooooo...just look at Keziah in wonderment as she looked on at the earthworm on the floor...due to Mommy's poor camera technique, the earthworm wasn't captured. Heehee...Mommy was too engrossed looking at how Keziah and Daddy was examining the little thing..

Sunday after church we went to Forum just hoping to get a nice spongy ball for Keziah to do some gym exercise and bounce around with. The search was a failure but guess what! We stumbled upon a play area in Forum that was very much like the gym. All thanks to the downpour the moment we wanted to leave. They even had a pool of softballs for the little kids to dive into like those in MacDonald's durind Daddy and Mommy's younger days. However, to get in, you have gotta sign for a membership card for $10 for 2 years. It's so cheap compared to the gymboree classes. Not to mention, Mommy signed up for it and took Keziah for a joy ride. There were slides, tunnels, even bicycles and a modified mini road within the area. The downside was that there were many older kids who could be rather rowdy, especially the boys. Daddy and Mommy had to watch Keziah as she made herself so comfortable in the area. This was definitely a good place for some indoor fun which was free and easy...

Blue black on the cheeks

Boo hoo....Keziah woke up in the morning chirpy and happy and started walking around in the room in her sleep suit, with her little telephone. While she was approaching daddy, she somehow lost her balance and fell. Not knowingly, she hit the platform bedside. She was seemed so in pain that she hardly cry out loud like usual. Mommy thought she hit her head and just cuddled her. Only later did she realised she hit her right left cheek coz it was red. Some rubbing on the cheeks but still the red mark became blue black mark and didn't go off...The accident prone toddler...

I am ONE!

Yes, we celebrated Keziah's 1 year old birthday today. It was definitely a good time catching up with friends and seeing how our little ones have grown. With a child, time seemed to pass so very quickly. I was talking with Mommy Christina whose child was born a month or so after Keziah and it seemed just like yesterday that we met during prenatal classes with our big round tummies. The celebration actually started rather quiet as it rained rather heavily in the late afternoon just before the celebration. We were wondering if our guests would be turning up as a few started to call to say they couldn't make it at last minute. Thankfully, still a number of guests streamed in slowly but surely as the rain dwindled. We really didn't think that we would have so many little ones roaming around. Though there were actually not that many - about 8 - 10 toddlers and kids - somehow they really made themselves comfortable and had great fun (I hoped) while making their presence felt! It was really good that Keziah had the company of her fellow playmates even though she's still not at that stage of knowing playing together with others.

Some snapshots of the evening of celebration....

While waiting for the guests to come....

Action starts....

Baby Minnie cake.....OOoooooo.......

Finally Keziah got her first bite into the cake....it's her birthday cake, how can Mommy not let her have a taste of it...

Little ones in action...

Opening up all the gifts....A BIG THANK YOU to everyone for your lovely thoughts...

OOoo....what are classes like???

It's a nice long Good Friday weekend. As a prelude to Keziah's birthday celebration, Daddy and Mommy took her out for some classes. Mommy had been contemplating on that for some time but work was just too busy for her to arrange for this. Guess Keziah also wondered how classes would be like.

We started the day out at Kindermusik as we did some routines with music. It was pretty fun drumming away, singing and clapping along and jostling around with other little toddlers. That being said, Mommy seemed to be the one doing most of the work of swinging the little one along as the teacher sang long. It was a good bonding session, but really wondered how much Keziah enjoyed the music and how much value there was aside from the very good bonding. Pit stop home for a nice little lunch before we are off again to Vivo City to shop around and a gymboree class in the late afternoon. Oh yes, the watermelon did certainly interest Keziah or draw some puzzled look from her as we place it right in front of her on her high chair.

Daddy and Mommy really thought Keziah enjoyed the space and activities at gymboree alot more given that she is such a tactile baby. One thing we noticed, she was very attentive to the teacher, paying attention to what the teacher said. She was also very amazed with the bubbles that came as part of the activity. Here she also met up with Baby Yan Yan, another April baby....Look at her in action and all the smiles...
