Pasir Ris Park

It's been a while since we were out to a park. Taking the opportunity of May Day, we decided to head for Pasir Ris Park which is at the corner of Singapore. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of play stations. There was even flying folk and large climbing structures. Though we had to encourage Keziah quite abit before she would go up to attempt the high ropes, we were glad she made it and she was very happy herself.

Our Pretty Boy!

As much he is intuitively an engineer being great in assembling trains and cars, having great fun as an architect with blocks and legos, he's always a great playmate with his sister over cooking and pretend play such as doctor and nurse, mother and baby, teacher and student.

Just what we discovered this evening while getting them to shower!

Playground in the Neighbourhood

Well this sort of sand playground in the neighbourhood had almost gone extinct as most now are carpeted with synthetic material. This one is just next to Ang Mo Kio McDonald's. They must have just refurbish it as the structures all looked really new. One of those rare weeks that Keziah doesn't have lesson in the morning so we decided to just explore this place then go down to the beach. Little things that keeps the kids happy. One thing noted, Keziah doesn't have the guts to go high! Abel is quite happy with his usual play stuff.

Disney on Ice!

Yes, it's back but we're not going for the show. However, we did take opportunity of free encounters with the characters at Square 2.

First came McQueen….Abel's favourite!

Then came Mickey and Minnie. We just happen to chance upon them and the opportunity to have a free photography session!

Climbing Trees

Sounds like one of those things we do in Kampong Days. Yes, Keziah decided to try it out while at Botanic Gardens with church mates today. Seeing the older ones do it, she also wanted to try. With much effort, she did reach the top but fear gripped her, knowing that she's quite far from the ground. She just couldn't let go to reach out to those trying to help her to get down. Good try though for the courage!

Slumber Party

Daddy chanced upon Mc's Pyjamas Party and we trodded down with the little ones for some fun. It's our first time and we really didn't know what to expect. We met Daddy's friend and their daughter, Eunice and the kids had so much fun that we felt our kids were a little wild.

After Happy Meal time, it was time for some quizzes. The kids were so excited and Daddy got involved with being the answer provided. Proven for once, Daddy was a McDonald kid, knowing the characters, where the drive-thru were, opening of this new branch so well in his hands.

Next was some craft time….

Then a story time which all kids were waiting for. We had the story about "The Angry Old Woman". Definitely all captivated by the story, even our dear little Abel, the youngest, was all ears.

What was Mommy doing? Taking pictures and chilling out with a sip of Mocha!

There was a lucky draw at the end. We didn't get the lucky pick but still we went home all happy with a goodie bag.

Beach play and kite flying @ East Coast Park

This year, Mommy thought to make NDP more meaningful and exciting, we joined the crowd at Marina Barrage to watch the fly past and fireworks after our nap. Little did we know that there was a big screen erected for the public to embrace the spirit of national day celebration. It was definitely crowded and parking was a real headache.

Join in the celebration with a picnic and view overhead. Simple baguette we prepared just before we headed out from home.

Well we ended with the beautiful fireworks which we didn't manage to capture as the kids were all so excited watching them. All was beautiful aside the horror of getting out of the carpark to head back home. Can't imagine it took us 1.5-2h to reach home, spending more than 1h stuck in a silly carpark. Now we'll think twice with such event though the kids really had fun!

Lego Land

Daddy's a great fan of lego and he has invested quite abit in it for the kids. However, little time was spent playing with it and this afternoon, they started digging into them to create their own little lego village completed with Abel's favourite train tracks.

Abel, the little engineer, is always taking things apart and putting them together...

Keziah, the adventurous one, is always game for new things. This mosiac puzzle was dug out from the store as Mommy kept it for a good long time as she bought it when Keziah was still too young to manage at a steal of $5. Keziah was definitely interested to try but she still has to work on her perception skills. Not an easy activity.

Old toys..

We have shelved off some toys for some time and today, we took it out and guess what, the kids loved playing with them!

Giant floor puzzle from Shu Shu when K turned 2. This time she put the puzzle together herself.

Abel is just simply a boy who's into trains and of course, cars! This was a hand-me-down car runway together with some petrol station passed on from our church friends some time back. Abel enjoyed putting them together, fixing up the trees along the roads and gantry and running the cars.

"Camping" when it' wet

It rained all Saturday and we were all cooped at home. Daddy struck of an idea of camping at home. So we erected a "tent" using our bedsheet and the kids had a fun time pretending to "camp", wrestling in the tent, reading in the tent and of course, napping in it!

Hols...it's play play play

March holidays is here and somehow this one week break just passed so quickly. Mommy was on course on Monday and Tuesday and so that left us with only the remaining of the week to play together. Since Monday was only half a day out, so Mommy dropped Keziah off to Aunt Celina to play with her kids at Bishan and lunch over at her place. It was also an opporunity for her to catch up with her and Aunt Joanna after her training was over before bringing Keziah home. Guess what, apparently the kids did a lot of workout that morning, running around the track at the active park and probably covering 800 - 1000 m. She must had such great fun that she refused to go home with Mommy.

It's definitely alot of play and going out. We were out to two playscapes within the remaining 3 days. First on Wednesday morning, it was Keziah meeting with her usual church gang at Toa Payoh Safra Kidzamze. Abel was off to school in the meanwhile.

Then it was Thursday at Fidgets in the afternoon after their naps with Aunt Danyun, Uncle Francis and their little Yingjie. The intent was for an afternoon out at the zoo but it rained heavily. So nowhere could be better than an indoor playground. Abel took awhile to warm up but Keziah was surprisingly brave to run around on her own. She would more often than not be a follower of an older brother or sister to try new stuff. Today, she took the lead to bring her brother around and the kids did great! Abel transversed the heights on his own after a little prodding at the start, walking across the cargo net and negotiating the obstacles on his own. He even went down a steep slide probably about 3-4m high but only for that once. Keziah even asked to go up on her own to the tallest spiral slide and she was definitely exhilarated coming down it.

Friday was day out to the long awaited play "Ollie and the Slurge". Ollie is bullied at school, because of his appearance, and his ideas on caring for the environment. The boss bullies Ollie’s father at work, because times are hard. The boss’s wife bullies the boss at home, because she always wants more money. One day, the boss orders Ollie’s father to dump some unwanted waste into the sea to save money. The Slurge Monsters soon grow and transform very quickly to terrify the city! While the Slurge Monsters devour everything in their path, Ollie has an accidental meeting with Spudge, a special little creature with a conscience. Together, they deal with bullies and learn how to destroy the Slurge Monsters!

Keziah would have gone with her school for this play but Mommy has preceded the teachers in booking the tickets. Mommy was rather impressed with the production but sadly, eventhough it was the last day of the performance, we met with a huge schoolgroup and worse when it's from an international school. Kids were just out of control even when there were so many accompanying teachers and parents. Ok, kids are just kids! Or is it how you train them? Keziah was all memerised during the show but was also frightened when the slurge monsters appeared and the loud accompliments. It's a good experience Mommy believes for the kids but at this age of 4, parents will still have to talk them through so that they will understand the happenings.

Cousins@play

It's a pity these days that cousins don't meet often like in the good old days of the past where the extended family is closely knitted. Nonetheless, we try to make the most of our gatherings. Today, our eldest cousin invited us over for a swim and lunch.

Our little boy seemed to be more comfortable in water today after Mommy 'dragged' him in for a dip. Looks like he also wants to swim like the older sisters. Surprisingly, when Mommy asked him to go down to swim position, he really did and started kicking as well.

Nothing's more fun than piggy back Daddy in the water. He even attempted to stand on Daddy's back.

Mommy's shoes and Carousel @ Pasar Malam

Abel's picking up the habit from his sister: wearing mommy's shoes and going around. Looks like everything is fun!

The pasar malam just opposite our block has been on since last week. Keziah has been pestering us for a ride since then. Today, we decided to give her a treat and she definitely thoroughly enjoyed it. However, $3 for a rickety carousel was really expensive. Abel was asking for one but we decided it would be when he's older.
