Abel's 6th Birthday Party

It's been a long while since we last had a birthday party for Abel. His last was his first birthday which obviously he had no collection of. Since this is his last year of kindergarten, we thought we shall just throw a party to gather his classmates and mums whom I hardly caught up with ever since number 3 came along and have some fun. Nothing beats running amok in a playscape. So here's the simple party at Kids Amaze Toa Payoh to kick start the school year 2014 on 1 January. The party room was nice and big for the kids to freely roam but it's not the draw to keep them in. The hit was out there in the maze to work them all out!

It's really great to see how he played along with the rest. They were moving so fast that it was terribly hard to catch clear pictures of them. Anyway we were busy with the organisation that we hardly see much of the play but their faces tell us that it's a whale of a time out there.

 Oh yes, the food and chatter...

 The cake cutting..the toy cake that he ever so wanted. It's a pity we didn't catch a whole group picture of all the kids. They were all so eager to gather around the cake.

 But nonetheless, these are our little guests, all 22 of them!!!!

 The best part...opening the presents...all the exhilaration over what he gets. Thank you everyone for your lovely presents!!!

Royce Gym

We were introduced to this playscape by our cousin. It was a fun place for little Keren and she certainly enjoyed climbing around and getting her first experience on a swing. She wasn't a bit frightened!

Kiddy Fun @ Turf City

Daddy was on leave this week and we had so much fun going around. Mommy had bought some cheap Groupon coupon for 4 hours play @ Kiddy Fun in Turf City. It's our first time here but it wasn't impressive for Daddy and Mommy. So true to its name, it was really 'kiddy' and was more suitable for the very young like under 4. The space was also relatively small and a little too warm. Nonetheless, to kids, it was loads of fun.

Keren had her hands on some of the little rides. She was so giggled with these new experiences.

Well, considering the actual cost, we will think twice about coming back again.

Lego Craze!

Holidays are the time we get to go out more often, a break from the usual school routine.

At Raffles City, there was an open play with loads of lego for kids to get hands on. The children simply enjoyed the building and playing with all sort of lego, especially Abel who was telling his story of flying planes. Never had they had so much lego to indulge in. Sad to say, it's not for bringing home.

Birthday Celebration with Classmates

Today Keziah had her celebration in school with her friends. For the first time, Mommy saw all her classmates as Keziah's on schoolbus and Daddy is the one who drops her off. Interesting to hear how the school celebrates the kids' birthday. The birthday kid is invited up on stage to a dummy birthday cake and the whole assembly will sing a birthday song to him/her. Afterwhich, they can celebrate their birthdays in class with the REAL cake. How sweet!

We had some fun at Fidgets again! This time, Abel was more than eager to run around on his own to explore the place compared to when we went with him in March hols. Then he needed some warm-up time. Now the place is his world!

Our little girl requested for McDonald's for dinner and since it was her birthday, we allowed. Somehow McDonald just has a draw on the kids.

Our little Abel wanted nothing else aside from a few mouthful of corn and nothing else but fries! Yes, fries dipped in tomato sauce.

Hols...it's play play play

March holidays is here and somehow this one week break just passed so quickly. Mommy was on course on Monday and Tuesday and so that left us with only the remaining of the week to play together. Since Monday was only half a day out, so Mommy dropped Keziah off to Aunt Celina to play with her kids at Bishan and lunch over at her place. It was also an opporunity for her to catch up with her and Aunt Joanna after her training was over before bringing Keziah home. Guess what, apparently the kids did a lot of workout that morning, running around the track at the active park and probably covering 800 - 1000 m. She must had such great fun that she refused to go home with Mommy.

It's definitely alot of play and going out. We were out to two playscapes within the remaining 3 days. First on Wednesday morning, it was Keziah meeting with her usual church gang at Toa Payoh Safra Kidzamze. Abel was off to school in the meanwhile.

Then it was Thursday at Fidgets in the afternoon after their naps with Aunt Danyun, Uncle Francis and their little Yingjie. The intent was for an afternoon out at the zoo but it rained heavily. So nowhere could be better than an indoor playground. Abel took awhile to warm up but Keziah was surprisingly brave to run around on her own. She would more often than not be a follower of an older brother or sister to try new stuff. Today, she took the lead to bring her brother around and the kids did great! Abel transversed the heights on his own after a little prodding at the start, walking across the cargo net and negotiating the obstacles on his own. He even went down a steep slide probably about 3-4m high but only for that once. Keziah even asked to go up on her own to the tallest spiral slide and she was definitely exhilarated coming down it.

Friday was day out to the long awaited play "Ollie and the Slurge". Ollie is bullied at school, because of his appearance, and his ideas on caring for the environment. The boss bullies Ollie’s father at work, because times are hard. The boss’s wife bullies the boss at home, because she always wants more money. One day, the boss orders Ollie’s father to dump some unwanted waste into the sea to save money. The Slurge Monsters soon grow and transform very quickly to terrify the city! While the Slurge Monsters devour everything in their path, Ollie has an accidental meeting with Spudge, a special little creature with a conscience. Together, they deal with bullies and learn how to destroy the Slurge Monsters!

Keziah would have gone with her school for this play but Mommy has preceded the teachers in booking the tickets. Mommy was rather impressed with the production but sadly, eventhough it was the last day of the performance, we met with a huge schoolgroup and worse when it's from an international school. Kids were just out of control even when there were so many accompanying teachers and parents. Ok, kids are just kids! Or is it how you train them? Keziah was all memerised during the show but was also frightened when the slurge monsters appeared and the loud accompliments. It's a good experience Mommy believes for the kids but at this age of 4, parents will still have to talk them through so that they will understand the happenings.
