March Fun

Holidays are here! Fidgets was great to keep the active kids occupied.
A little trip to the airport to watch the planes. We haven't done this for a long time.
Never missing the zoo whether it's holiday or day off school.
Development milestone: The kids overcame their fear of the splash zone and learnt to enjoy the blast from the raining bucket of water.
I love this picture! Simply the sweetest of the trio!

CNY @ Zoo

As always, we always enjoyed our family time together after a day of visitation at no other place than the school. The kids just love this place. Welcoming the year of the Dragon!
The kids were fascinated with the new exhibit - the mole rats! They were really tiny...

Learning out of Class - Zoo

Keziah's been going for school excursion almost once a term. This term they headed off to the zoo to reinforce the theme on circus that they on this term. She had been so excited about it and kept reminding us of the day.
Mommy decided to pack a hot lunch and surprised her with her brand new Dora food jar. So glad she finished every bit of it!

Zoo in Festive Moods

The zoo brought in new rabbits to join us celebrate the new year! The rabbits were really huge! These Giant Flemish flew in from USA just for CNY but they are staying and of course, there were others.
We caught sight of many interesting things..one of which was the sloth and her baby. These creatures are the slowest in the world but they co-exist with these fruit bats competing for fruits.
Nothing much for dinner on 2nd day of Chinese New so it's home delivery!

Elephant ride

After PTM, we took a trip off to the zoo. Yes again! However, we caught sight things new again. White-faced monkeys snatching carrots from the macaw, new born baby hippo just a few days old...

The kids had their first elephant ride which they were all so excited about. Can't imagine having to queue for this ride.

Wet and wild makes little ones as happy as ever!

Manatee Feeding

Today Keziah tagged along Mommy who was bringing her students out to the Zoo for learning journey. We've been to the zoo umpteen times but we just didn't take notice of manatee feeding. It wasn't too crowded and so we took the opportunity. We discovered that they were vegetarians and like their common name says "sea cows", they literally feed on sea grass. However for feeding today, we fed them with boiled potatoes and carrots. Their skin was so rough and thick and their snout was so hairy.

Do you know?

Do you know the elephants and chimps are out of action?

Invites to Birthday @ Zoo

We haven't celebrated Keziah's birthday with her friends since her first. Now that she's turning 4, we decided to hold another small one as a gathering with her ex-classmates from her previous schoolhouse, cousins, churchmates and classmates from her music class at none other than her favourite hunt - the zoo. Felt that it's more meaningful as she's now fully aware of what this celebration was all about and it's with her friends and not just Daddy's and Mommy's friends. It's gonna be fun and play for the kids.

Thanks for those who're joining us for the celebration and do come early to explore the zoo and the huge waterplay @ Kidzworld. Let's now pray for a wonderful weather for this day of outdoor fun!

Daddy's Day Out with Kids

Keziah's got a day off from school since she wasn't going to excursion with the rest of her class. Daddy took a day off too to spend some time with the two. Yes, it's outing day and to no where more familiar than the zoo. They had their morning indulgence at Macs.
Though we've been to the zoo countless times, they haven't ever fed the rabbits.
They were definitely exhausted after the trip and had a snooze on the trip back. While Abel continued to nap after reaching home, our dear princess was wide awake! She was so excited at the idea of helping Daddy to wash the car that she simply dashed out to get her hands on the hose. She was simply diligently wiping the car after dousing it with loads of water.

Zoo on CNY eve

Not sure if it was CNY eve or was it Universal Studio's opening, the zoo was rather quiet. For the first time, we decided to rent a tiny explorer to put the kids in so that they won't be too tired out.
Things are never bored at the zoo. There's always new things to discover. This time we managed to get a good seat for the Splash and Elephants@work show. The kids were really fascinated. Even Abel was sitting quietly watching intently at the show.
It's our 2nd time feeding the elephants. This time round, Keziah was keen on the feeding. In the past, she would shun once she right in front of the animal but this time, she just loved the experience. Not only that, our little Abel was just as excited despite facing such a huge animal.
Rest and relax...
We stumbled into the crocodile enclosure which we never seemed to have come by the previous many times. We were always watching out for them at the treetop walk.
We were just in time for giraffe feeding. We discovered that aside from having long neck and long legs, they have long tongues too!
Along the way, we bummed into the peahen and her chicks. They looked just so different!
Hey, orang utans chewed on sugar canes too!

Nothing beats filling our tummies after all the walk. It's KFC!
Our posy gal....
