March Fun

Holidays are here! Fidgets was great to keep the active kids occupied.
A little trip to the airport to watch the planes. We haven't done this for a long time.
Never missing the zoo whether it's holiday or day off school.
Development milestone: The kids overcame their fear of the splash zone and learnt to enjoy the blast from the raining bucket of water.
I love this picture! Simply the sweetest of the trio!

Keren's passport photo @ 7 month

Our attempt to take our little girl's passport photo to be ready for any possible trip in March.

March Kids' Baking

Mommy has gotten into baking recently with the new Facebook group she is in. With some day off from school for Keziah due to excursions, we gotten down together to bake muffins. She just loves the measuring and stirring and mixing.
One of the nights, Keziah saw Mommy making buns and she insisted on joining in. So here we were, making our very own sausage rolls.
Not too bad isn't it?

@ 6.5 months Keren's sitting well and playing with toys

Awareness of toys around her! Rolling a ball before bed time…

We tried her in the exersaucer that we kept since Keziah's time. She's enjoying the time playing with all the activity stations. It certainly gives Mommy some time to do the household chores.
Early introduction to driving! Beep beep...

TV time with Jie Jie and Kor Kor…what's keeping them in their seat?

Homeschooling

Abel has reached the age to start reading and Mommy started to dig out materials to introduce to him phonics and sight words. We tried to make it a weekly activity as far as we could. It's been since so from late January but our progress has been slow as Mommy could simply do so much with a pair of hands and 3 kids.
Thank God though that Abel has a good keen phonetic sense which makes blending alphabet sounds together very easy to him. These days we realized when we show him simply 3-4 letter words, he can actually blend them together.

@ 6.5 months Keren's moving on her tummy

Keren's getting more mobile everyday. Though she doesn't flip, she's moving herself on her tummy. Tummy time doesn't seem to be her favorite time but nonetheless it gives her the opportunity to exercise her limbs.

Mommy's 33

Time sure flies…Mommy's turning another year older. We had an early celebration the weekend before. Without fail, Mommy had her crave for Japanese food satisfied. However, it was quite eventful as we had initially wanted to return to the Japanese restaurant @ Holiday Inn Orchard as the food was great when we had it 2 years back. Sadly, we arrived to find that it had wound down. A quick check on www.hungrygowhere.com, we found that there were many Japanese eateries in Cuppage Plaza. Based on reviews, we ventured into Izakaya Nijumaru Restaurant for the sole reason Japanese patonise it. This place was rather huge and was no fan fare in terms of the decorations, very much like a family restaurant in Japan. The menu was entirely in Japanese so we simply asked for recommendations from the service staff who were mostly aunties. After some wait, we were not disappointed by both the portion as well as the affordability of the meal. This place was known for their tasty bentos. One thing we noticed, the Japanese were housed in separate room and even for the locals who patronize them, they were regulars who ordered without the menu.

On the eve of Mommy's birthday, Daddy got her her favorite flowers. Thank you dear for remembering!
Mommy decided to make the meal together today. Simple wanton that the kids helped to wrap (well, they filled the pouches but Mommy had to tidy them up) and grilled char siew on the Happy Call Pan.

Daddy came home with little cakes to end off the day! Nice sweet varied taste..

@ 6 months

It just amazing how quickly mood changes even for a little baby. Yes, Keren has grown! Her expression of happiness, excitement and frustration.

Keren started on solids a week before she turned 6 months and she's taking very well to it. We started with rice cereal and moved on to sweet potatoes. She simply loved her food! We noticed she liked her food thicker rather than watery.
Along with solid feeding, we tried her on the zippy cup but she had more fun gumming at it than drinking.
Keren can also hold her own milk bottle now!
She certainly knows what's in the bottle even though she's not the one having milk.
She finds her way of having fun. When legs get tired from lifting and kicking, she finds a place to rest them so she can play with them later.

Loads of beautiful smiles from her!
I love playing with my new phone. Who's calling me?
Balls are my favorite.
Kor Kor and me..Do we look alike?
Tummy fun time!

With a Pinch of Salt

"With a Pinch of Salt" - what an interesting name for a restaurant! We took it as such to try out the food as there was a good deal on Groupon. The place was a cozy little shop along good old Katong where we both studied.

Food was just norm, nothing to really rave about. However it was a nice night out just to reminiscence the old times. It's the company that matters as always.

Stayover @ Cousin

We meet once in a while but the kids just loved to play together. Since Keona's and Tiarni's parents needed to be away for the weekend, we stayed over at their place to watch over the girls. The kids had a whale of a time watching TV, playing toys and taking a dip together. We even caught the fireworks from Chingay celebrations right from their apartment!

They had so much fun that they wanted to do a stay over again….

Keren @ 5.5 months

Keren still loves her fingers and definitely very comfortable being on the tummy, raising her head higher to look around. At about 4+ month, we witnessed her flipping from her tummy to her back but it was occasional and these days she simply doesn't do it and rather just lie down when she got too tired. She's not flipping yet though we see her rolling onto her sides.
She's holding her two little feet and playing around with them a lot more. Most times, she will be pulling off her socks. She enjoys sitting up. Guess there's more to look at with a different perspective when upright. We still need to support her as she can't sit on her own yet.
The bumbo worked wonder to make sitting up safer for her.
She's now very good with grabbing toys under the playmat, reaching out and getting her hands on what she wants. That means pulling anything within her reach. She can pass toys from one hand to the other and chew on it and even reach for a toy nearby while on tummy to grab.
OOoooooo…she's just so cute when she plays with her tongue…little sharp pointy one…

She loves to play peek-a-boo. Always putting on the nappy to cover her face.
Life had been real busy since school started so tracking her development closely and simulating further have been challenging. Nonetheless, watching her smile each day and making more babbles while she plays almost amaze me and brighten the day. Posting on the blog is definitely slow with so many other things to manage. Staying home with 3 kids is no joke but looking at them grow and talking about their school day and most importantly. seeing them smile and sticking to you simply means millions. Guess it's learning to work within our means and savor the moment while it lasts.

CNY @ Zoo

As always, we always enjoyed our family time together after a day of visitation at no other place than the school. The kids just love this place. Welcoming the year of the Dragon!
The kids were fascinated with the new exhibit - the mole rats! They were really tiny...

Chinese New Year

The night before we had the usual reunion dinner…loads of food and loads of people
We ushered in the Chinese New Year with new pajamas and the kids received their 压岁钱。
Even Keren knows what it means to receive an and bao!
 新年蒙恩!

It's Chinese New Year visitation with the cousins having great fun!
Our little sweetie pie was enjoying the day too! Just loved her smile..
Never missing the family pictures…We are getting too big to be all in one picture.
