Today the school took them off for an excursion as the theme this term is on plants and how worms make natural compost. She was so excited to show off her plant which she potted all on her own. She even dictated how she should be taking care of the plant and insisted on a spot with loads of sunshine and air for her little darling. Yes, watering her plant is now her routine on return from school!

First Nike
In preparation of her school trip to Taiwan in 2 weeks' time, we had to buy her a decent pair of walking shoes. Nothing is better than a decent pair of trainers. So here we are her first pair of trainers and Mommy's after a good 5 years.

What interesting little hands I have! The little girl is just so intrigued by what these hands can do!
Keziah's little performance
After a year learning individual lessons from a piano teacher, Keziah's now enjoying playing the piano a lot more even though we still hope she could concentrate a little better. Somehow time passes so quick and she's already onto grade 1 theory and moving on to grade 1 exam pieces. After some consideration, we decided we will just skip the exams and play on and probably take the exams when she's in grade 2 or 3. Hope she will enjoy music and use her little talent to serve the Lord in time come.
Keziah's playing the piece "King Arthur's Adventure" which depicts how he took on a challenge to save the maidens, galloping on the battle ground and finally a triumphant victory.

Keren has been sitting quite steadily for a couple of weeks and now she's getting from sit to prone in an attempt to reach from things around her. Things around her have become more attractive and she simply wants to get her hands on them!

Abel has come to an age to read. He's pretty good with phonics and so Mommy started out with simple word family at the start of the year. After a good 3 months or so, though not very consistently, Abel has started to blend his words. We had tried a range of activities and games to learn word family and sight words.
Here's Abel reading a book from a phonic series that Mommy had used with Keziah as he finished his short vowel 'a' families.
Keziah has now become a more confident reader as well. Here's her reading her school's reader.

Keziah's turning 6. This is also her last year at kindergarten. We decided to put our hands to work and make some little goodies for her friends at school.
She was simply so excited to get her hands on cookie making.
Gingerbread man and Melody...Mommy tried to be a little ambitious to attempt to prepare her birthday cake from scratch. It all began with trials of making cupcakes which seriously turned out harder than it seemed. Then, learning how to make buttercream icing and last but not least, to put everything together. Smurfs was Keziah's choice.
As it's good Friday and the school was having a holiday on Thursday, we celebrated at school on 4 April, a Wednesday. It is such a coincidence that our neighbor on the 40th floor also had her birthday on the same day. So here are the girls..
As usual, all kids being excited over birthday cakes..
To make a difference, rather than the usual party, we had a staycation at Sentosa. Family time spent well together enjoying many firsts. Keziah was all so excited about it and had been telling everyone about it as the date draw near.
Here, we were. Attempting our first Luge and skyline ride. Initially, Keziah was reluctant to go up, very much expected of our less adventurous girl. She only agreed after Mommy went with her on tandem. She loved it thereafter and wanted more.
Not forgetting to capture the myriad of expressions of our little one while she waited for us.
Mommy and daughter team..
Daddy and Son team...
The sky was just so lovely and the kids couldn't resist playing on the beach though we just wanted a stroll.
Not having enough, we went for a night ride! Wheee…...
As the day draw to a close, we ended it with the lovely crane dance.Next day was wet and wild at Hard Rock Hotel sandy pool. Keren had her first experience in the water. No fear and she just comfortably sat there to play sand and kicked around when in the water. Thanks to my dear friend, Orange, who loaned us the swim suit and the float. Keren had such a great time.
The trio … water babies..
Father time with the lovelies
Mommy and her little girl..
Never having enough...
To feed to hungry tummies after a swim, we dug in at the Malaysian Food Street. Surprisingly, the food was delicious, much more than what we expected. Prices were a little high but low at this resort place.
Nap was still part of the routine but what did they do after. Couch potatoes! Enjoying the rare indulgence of the black box.
Snacking away…even Keren joined the older two!
A monorail ride out to venture the Merlion Park. Our first ride on the cable car. The kids were happily snacking as they looked on outside at the brilliantly lit city.
Home sweet home on 7 April. Some shots of little Keren sitting in her high chair while we had dinner at Crystal Jade. Oops, can see but can't eat table food yet.

Keren has always enjoyed her bath. Now to add on the fun and her motor skill development, she can sit and splash around.
The yellow rubber duckie no longer just floats around her but it's her little companion to play with during bath time.

Keren's getting more mobile everyday. Though she doesn't flip, she's moving herself on her tummy. Tummy time doesn't seem to be her favorite time but nonetheless it gives her the opportunity to exercise her limbs.

Time sure flies…Mommy's turning another year older. We had an early celebration the weekend before. Without fail, Mommy had her crave for Japanese food satisfied. However, it was quite eventful as we had initially wanted to return to the Japanese restaurant @ Holiday Inn Orchard as the food was great when we had it 2 years back. Sadly, we arrived to find that it had wound down. A quick check on www.hungrygowhere.com, we found that there were many Japanese eateries in Cuppage Plaza. Based on reviews, we ventured into Izakaya Nijumaru Restaurant for the sole reason Japanese patonise it. This place was rather huge and was no fan fare in terms of the decorations, very much like a family restaurant in Japan. The menu was entirely in Japanese so we simply asked for recommendations from the service staff who were mostly aunties. After some wait, we were not disappointed by both the portion as well as the affordability of the meal. This place was known for their tasty bentos. One thing we noticed, the Japanese were housed in separate room and even for the locals who patronize them, they were regulars who ordered without the menu.
On the eve of Mommy's birthday, Daddy got her her favorite flowers. Thank you dear for remembering!
Mommy decided to make the meal together today. Simple wanton that the kids helped to wrap (well, they filled the pouches but Mommy had to tidy them up) and grilled char siew on the Happy Call Pan.
Daddy came home with little cakes to end off the day! Nice sweet varied taste..

"With a Pinch of Salt" - what an interesting name for a restaurant! We took it as such to try out the food as there was a good deal on Groupon. The place was a cozy little shop along good old Katong where we both studied.
Food was just norm, nothing to really rave about. However it was a nice night out just to reminiscence the old times. It's the company that matters as always.

We meet once in a while but the kids just loved to play together. Since Keona's and Tiarni's parents needed to be away for the weekend, we stayed over at their place to watch over the girls. The kids had a whale of a time watching TV, playing toys and taking a dip together. We even caught the fireworks from Chingay celebrations right from their apartment!

Keren still loves her fingers and definitely very comfortable being on the tummy, raising her head higher to look around. At about 4+ month, we witnessed her flipping from her tummy to her back but it was occasional and these days she simply doesn't do it and rather just lie down when she got too tired. She's not flipping yet though we see her rolling onto her sides.
She's holding her two little feet and playing around with them a lot more. Most times, she will be pulling off her socks. She enjoys sitting up. Guess there's more to look at with a different perspective when upright. We still need to support her as she can't sit on her own yet.
The bumbo worked wonder to make sitting up safer for her.
She's now very good with grabbing toys under the playmat, reaching out and getting her hands on what she wants. That means pulling anything within her reach. She can pass toys from one hand to the other and chew on it and even reach for a toy nearby while on tummy to grab.
OOoooooo…she's just so cute when she plays with her tongue…little sharp pointy one…
She loves to play peek-a-boo. Always putting on the nappy to cover her face.
Life had been real busy since school started so tracking her development closely and simulating further have been challenging. Nonetheless, watching her smile each day and making more babbles while she plays almost amaze me and brighten the day. Posting on the blog is definitely slow with so many other things to manage. Staying home with 3 kids is no joke but looking at them grow and talking about their school day and most importantly. seeing them smile and sticking to you simply means millions. Guess it's learning to work within our means and savor the moment while it lasts.
