Mommy and kids

Abel's development at 4m3wk

He's able to sit supported. Just look at him in his Bumbo seat.

Keziah wanted to remember the good old days when she was in it.

Abel's biting his lips.

Now he can multitask as well - Holding both his legs up either in one hand or both and grabbing something else in another hand.

Abel has an interest in Barney too!

Hmm...let's see how it tastes...

Abel at 4+ months

20 May
Abel was all cheery before bed. He's grasping his hands very well and constantly doing the 'Gong Xi, Gong Xi' action.

Trying to sit up on his own..

In Keziah's arms....Two smiley angels Daddy and Mommy thank God for.

23 May
Abel was able to support himself very well now and even attempting to crawl forward these days. He coul maneour himself on the tummy around. Oh yes, he's drooling quite abit, not sure if his teeth would be sprouting early.

Things nevertheless gets into his mouth when he gets his hands on them.

Visit from Cynthia Jie Jie

Cynthia jie jie was here on a business trip from HK. She was Daddy's coursemate in the university. 2 years back, she was here as well and we went sentosa together. This time, we only had time for a dinner. She actually also the unannounced 'Godma' of the kids as she will never fail to bring them gifts when she comes by. As usual, Daddy and Mommy brought her to try some local delight the Singaporean way - Food Republic at VivoCity! Ok, it's not the hawker as the little ones won't be able to keep still with the heat. Just look at how Keziah warmed up to her, so pally after shying away for a little while.

"Let me offer you a drink. I've finished my Soyamilk drink, so you can finish yours too."

"Hmm...the noodles and prawn look so good..."

"Should I take the offer? Not very nice right?"

Meanwhile, Abel was just up from his nap and after his milk, he was all satisfied and smiley.

"Let's take some pictures...thanks for allowing me to handle the camera..Cheese.."

Our parting shot...

Shun Kuey Making

Keziah was learning from the 'master' today how to make traditional Hakka Shun Kuey. Just look at how intently she was focussing.

Getting her hands all working on the dough. Yes, she did recognise and call out 'dough' as she got her hands all kneading and rolling away. It's like her playdoh.

All white and messy but nonetheless, great fun!

Her little pieces of work..the mini 'pancakes'...Can we steam them?

Fun at Forum Again...

It's been a long while we haven't been to forum. Today Daddy and Mommy decided to take Keziah out for a little play indoor while the sun was blazing hot outside. Not sure if she remembered she was here a few months back, but she certainly enjoyed herself very much, riding the cars and even attempting a big bike which she saw other older kids riding and the activity area as well. One thing Daddy and Mommy noted: Keziah won't play an activity when there were rowdy kids around. She would rather stand and watch and quickly run over to it when the kids left. She sure didn't like the feeling of being threatened.

This is what you get when you ask Keziah to pose for a shot.

You want one?

This doesn't belong here...let's get it out...

I can climb out on my own...

Mommy, help! The bridge is rocking so badly and my feet are wobbling..

Here's Daddy and Abel watching on...

Yum Cha!

Keziah had been drinking tea with Ta Ta and Nei Nei after dinner these days. She seemed to be hooked with this tea set. Of course, while Ta Ta and Nei Nei drunk their tea, she had her drink in these little cups but with simply water.

How delightful water tasted in these little cups.

Birthday party...

We were invited to Chistian's 2nd Birthday Party! Oh Christian's Daddy and Mommy really made good effort to celebrate his birthday with balloon sculpting and photoready shots for the little guests to take home.

Keziah was especially happy with the playground that was just outside the function hall. As usual with unfamiliar grounds, she would tread carefully, roaming around while watching other kids play before attempting it herself. Once she has tried, she hooked onto it. She was up and down this slide for upteen times thereafter.

We had to rush off to music lesson right after. However, after class, we hung around united square abit for Keziah to have some fun. She seemed keen to do what these other kids were doing but of couse, yet to reach the stage of playing with strangers yet.

The seed of evil....

Oh mine, who teaches little children to lie? No one! Keziah has been found to lie!!!! Yesterday while Mommy was napping, she told Ah Ma that Mommy allowed her to drink Yakult. Can you believe it, a toddler of a tender 25 months was actually lying? Rightfully so cause everyone is born with the sinful state. Now, it's a matter of disciplining her and more importantly to lead her to salvation. Mommy and Daddy sure need loads of wisdom from God to do this job without ending up with one who can give you perfect answers without really understanding the meaning of it all.

Mother's Day

Last weekend was Mother's Day. It went by without Mommy even realising it seriously. It was merely another day. It wasn't till another mommy from the forum asked about how it was celebrated. Not sure if it's due to going through it the 2nd time, there wasn't much aside a family dinner the previous weekend. That forum mommy was telling Mommy how her hubby took her out for a nice dinner with their son, bought her card and gift till her son is able to do so. Mommy will have to wait till these 2 little ones know what Mother's Day is and surprise her with their little gifts. It's certainly nice to be appreciated for the hard work of labour by your other half. Though Daddy didn't do that, he did take a day off on Monday to spend some time together to bring Keziah to visit a childcare and take the two for their jabs. Sometimes it's really difficult to compare what others hubby can do. Guess it's taking every bit as being appreciative even when it's just shared parenting. Little gifts comeby nice with a little more thought. Today, Daddy bought Mommy her favourite durian roll. Oh yes, Daddy 'feeds' Mommy WELL. No wonder Mommy can't slim down..haha....Everyday can be celebrated too! Think the next thing Mommy's looking forward to is their wedding anniversary. A champange brunch at Greenhouse@Ritz? Steak at Lawry's? Korean food at Kim's? Something different? A time for two without the little ones?

A ride on the MRT...

Sexy BAbe

Daddy took this little shot while changing for Abel...

What's Fun all about?

Lego building..just look at how high the lego blocks could go! Keziah's little feat, of coz, with some help from Daddy and Mommy...

Playing WII with Shu Shu...just look at how Keziah drives at the wheel...

Of coz, it counts too some gorgeous moments with little Abel on his play mat! Sitting by him and squeezing with him too...

Oh yes, and Abel with his little pouty lips...making everyone smiles with his expressions and giggles..

Can't people have a greater sense of responsibility?

Mommy is totally upset with the contractor for cheating on us. She wouldn't be so upset about being overcharged if not for him saying he's purchasing mattress for us at a lower cost than retail with free divan. End up we realised that the amount we paid was even higher than the retail price out at shops unless he can tell us that the mattress was delivered wrongly. We wanted to give him a benefit of doubt but he refused to answer our calls. It's not even pocketed spring and 2 layered as confirmed by him. Now we wonder how much we were overpaying for the house renovation and accessories for the quality. He now simply sends his foreman who doesn't give us a good impression to face us. Too busy? Biz too good? What started off well turned up quite bad at the end. Whose fault? Us not supervising the job and trusting it will be well done or the contractor for not being honest with us?

Today, Mommy will go down and supervise the job rectification. Hopefully all will be resolved by today and case close. As Mommy is still breastfeeding Didi, she has to take a short trip back in the afternoon at least once to express to avoid engorgement and rush back. She had informed beforehand of the plans and yet this morning someone has to take the opportunity of this window space to say she needs to photocopy something when Mommy comes back down in town. If baby is sleeping it's fine, what if he's fussing? Mommy only has 2 hands and she can't be expressing and carrying baby to soothe him right? It's already frustrating with the contractor, now there's something more to be frustrated about. Yes, it's Mommy's responsibility to care for the child. Mommy would have brought DiDi along if not for the dust and lacquer that they will be using. Imagine such a small infant having to take the smell and dust? Even after the lacquer was applied previously, the solvent still caused Mommy's eyes to tear during the last visit. Even a layman would know that such is bad for the child's development. Wonder when is the last straw that will make Mommy blow up in front than be a silent acceptor for Daddy's sake. Her face is already quite black. Then again, what's the point of blowing up and souring things? Anyway, Mommy should be thankful that they are already trying coz not everyone is the same. After all, she gets help with:
1) picking up of Keziah from Ah Ma's place
2) some company when at home
3) some overseeing when there's a need and there's availability (even Shu Shu chips in to help with playing with one while MOmmy hurries with the other)
4) some overseeing while Mommy washes both up for the night
5) meals cooked or bought most times
Though unlike others whose help is total even for nights, and life as parents seemed no different from without, maybe then Mommy will complain of overpossession as well.

Really can't people have a greater sense of responsibility and do what they have promised? If you can't commit, rather say NO than drop a bomb on the day or be found out untrue unless unforeseen circumstances. Guess the world just isn't that ideal and we just have to be more prepared and take everything with a pinch on salt to depend on our own. Favours are given. Now Mommy thinks about the time she will have to go back to work and especially for the month of July, when it might even end up she can't be back home till late at night due hosting a conference, it really bugged her, and all the more so when Daddy is so busy at work and home late too!

Two at Home....Patience

Having a toddler and an infant at home at the same time can really make Mommy's patience run low. Both need attention. Both wants company. Yet they are not ready to play with one another yet. Keziah, being a budding toddler hitting the terrible twos, has really started to show the obvious signs of tantrums. She will cry now when she doesn't get her way. Many times today, Mommy had to raise her voice at her to get her to do the necessary and even smacking her hands many times. Thinking back, it may not be Keziah's fault entirely but really Mommy's too as she was simply too high strung at Keziah not listening to her. After all, she'a a toddler. She wanted Mommy to play with her, but Mommy had to attend to DiDi. Mommy also found it hard to occupy her. There were pleasant moments when DiDi was sleeping and Mommy had the time to read Keziah some books, play bubbles which she loved (now she could form her own bubbles using the teddy bear squeezer) and sing some songs to put her to nap. As the day drawn on, Mommy's patience really ran low. Mommy had to take DiDi out for his usual Monday Positive Infant Class and when she returned, she had to have unexpected early dinner and manage the two together. Keziah was a mess at the table. Guess Mommy is really one not too keen to have such surprises as it throws routine out of syn which of course the old folks don't quite understand. DiDi was unusually cranky from his nap, playing on his own for only a little while and started to cry really badly. No matter how Mommy latched, he would fall asleep and when unlatch to only wake up. Keziah, on the other hand, with only one nap in the afternoon of not more than 1h was starting to get restless, wanting Mommy to play Lego with her, pulling out books and flipping only a page and leaving them all over the room, refusing to clean up when instructed to, climbing onto Mommy while she's feeding DiDi, asking for hugs which Mommy couldn't give coz Didi was latched on. Keziah just couldn't stop scratching her toes which were rather dry and peeling. Mommy had to smack her hand and forcefully pull her hands away. Throughout the day, Mommy was just telling herself "patient, patient, patient" and "learn to expect zero and take any extra help, if any, as bonus even if there are physical hands around". It's such a struggle to put the two to sleep. Keziah was already tired and asked for her milk early and only turned in after Mommy sang several songs and trying to give a "distant" hug while latching on. DiDi simply woke up every time Mommy put him down on his cot. Mommy was so tired and simply latched him lying down after Keziah slept till he's in dreamland. Seriously, being home the whole day with 2 kids is really a big challenge. Bringing them out might be easier. Then again, it's really establishing a routine for both when the time comes.

Now it's just sorting things out with the contractor for the new flat which has been a headache that's bugging Daddy and Mommy due to some mistrust and things not done well enough.

Cookie Cutter

Today, Aunt Natalie and Uncle Chris dropped by to drop off some cookie cutters which Mommy asked Aunt Natalie to buy. Aunt Natalie got the Melody and Sugar Bunny ones. They are so cute. Can't wait to use them to make some cute sandwiches for Keziah. Just look at the ones that Aunt Natalie made for her darling Cheryl. Haha...Mommy's so tempted to get the Hello Kitty ones for her too!
